When I first created the segment of Jackass of the Week, I knew it
wasn't a matter of if Terrell Owens would win the award, I knew it
was a matter of when? Well, that happened this past week. Let's
start from the beginning shall we? On Thursday, our boy T.O. fell
asleep in the cowboys team meeting. Something he says has gone
on since his rookie season in San Francisco. He says that he
doesn't know what it is but he goes on to say: "I've never been
diagnosed with it. It's nothing new for me to fall asleep in a
meeting. It goes back to my rookie year in San Francisco. My
receivers coach (George Stewart) knew I would fall asleep." Oh,
that's OK then T.O. if it's been going on since San Francisco, where
you ran yourself out of town, and then in Philly where you ran
yourself out of town, and now in Dallas where you......well, soon.
Dummy.
Fast forward now to yesterday, Sunday. The Cowboys ended up
losing a tight contest to the Redskins 22-19 on a field goal with no
time left. Owens is a big factor why. Early in the game, Owens was
wide open on a deep pattern where Tony Romo hit him in the wrong
place, his hands. Owens dropped a sure TD pass which would have
ended up being the difference in a Dallas win, not a loss. Maybe
Owens nodded off during the play? He's probably been nodding off
during games since his rookie year. Later in the game, Owens
almost made up for his blunder by catching a TD pass, but he
ruined it by posing in the end zone, pretending to take a nap with
the football...a little mock of his own self proclaimed sleeping
problem. Hey, that's funny T.O., you just cost your team 15
yards...was it worth it? A tight game, a divisional game, playoff race
on the line and you cost your team 15 yards for being 'funny'?
You're stupid. You just can't do those things in meaningful division
games! You just can't! Bill Parcells let him know what he thought
when Owens came off the field and Owens gave him an earful right
back. Nice respect for the coach you have there Terrell, you're a
real winner. T.O. starts the week off by nodding off in practice,
leading into him dropping a sure TD pass in the game yesterday. He
then catches a TD, does an illegal celebration that costs his team 15
yards and ends his week by yelling at his coach on the sideline on
national TV. Terrell Owens, I'm sure I'll be saying this to you many
more times, but you are the BSN JACKASS OF THE WEEK!
BSN'S JACKASS OF THE WEEK!
