NL EAST:
1.
The Mets added Johan Santana to the top of their rotation and I think he'll be enough to push them into the playoffs. They have a good offense and a solid staff.
2.
* Here's the wild card team. They have one of the best offenses in the entire MLB and I wouldn't want to face them! The rotation is lacking superstar power but it's solid enough to get them through the long season.
3.
This division is so good that the Braves are third. They are definite contenders in this 3 horse division race. I like their pitching and the offense. They won't miss Andruw Jones in center either.
4.
This team is loaded with young talent. If they can stay together for 4 or 5 years they may be dangerous. For right now though, they will need to learn to play together and learn how to play the game.
5.
This is the worst team in MLB. They have a great short stop with Hanley Ramirez and a lot of young prospects who should be minor leaguers. Sorry Marlins fans, they suck.
NL CENTRAL:
1.
They have a great manager, a good pitching staff and a very solid lineup. I also think they'll land the Orioles Brian Roberts before the season is done. They will be a playoff team for sure.
2.
This team will definitley be in the race all year long. They have good pitching with Ben Sheets and new sensation Yovani Gallardo. To top it off would you want to pitch to Prince Fielder and Ryan Braun?
3.
Any team with Albert Pujols is going to win some games. They do have some pitching problems and that will hurt them, but I still think Pujols can help them win enough to finish third.
4.
You know the power in this division has changed when I'm picking the Cardinals and Astros third and fourth! The Astros do have some good players with the always reliable Berkman and Oswalt and last year they brought up young stud Hunter Pence, he can rake the ball.
5.
Let's just enjoy the sunset of Griffey's career here. He doesn't have too many years left now. I actually hope he gets traded to a contender so he can get that elusive ring.
6.
This team is dreadful. Jason Bay, Xavier Nady and Adam LaRoche could all be traded before the deadline. Another losing year in Pittsburgh.
NL WEST:
1.
This team can play. They have pitching, hitting, youth and experience. I think they are a true World Series contender and have a bright future to go with it. With Webb and Haren at the top, they will be tough to beat.
2.
This will be a great test of just how good Joe Torre really is as a manager. A lot different then playing with Yankee money now. They do have some solid young players though, Kemp, Martin, Furcal and LaRoche to name a few.
3.
The image is a little fuzzy much like their hangover from last year will be. This team made the World Series last year but I don't see it happening again. Good team, but not great. Third in the west type of team.
4.
They have good pitching, led by Peavy but the offense isn't there. The ballpark is tough and the division is loaded with better teams.
5.
No Bonds, no wins. This team has some young pitching but that's seriously all they have. The ballpark is nice, so that's a good reason to go to the game I guess.
