BSN'S JACKASS OF THE WEEK!
|
We go back to the NBA for this week's winner. Yes, I know there has
been a lot of hollering for Barry Bonds to win the award, but, nothing
has even happened in that case yet, and quite frankly, this guy has
earned it even more. I'm talking about New York Knicks guard Stephon
Marbury. Last Tuesday, upon learning that his coach, Isiah Thomas was
going to start Mardy Collins over him, Marbury marched up to the front
of the Knicks plane and confronted Thomas. He was then reportedly
over heard saying, "Isiah has to start me, I've got so much [stuff] on
Isiah and he knows it. He thinks he can [get] me. But I'll [get] him first.
You have no idea what I know." Marbury then left the team and told the
New York newspapers he was given permission, which it turns out was
a bold faced lie. Give me a break Stephon. Are you seriously that
egotistical that you HAVE to be the starter? Listen, a team player will do
what his coach thinks is best for the team. Obviously your coach
thought it would be a good idea for you to come off the bench. Team
players, and certainly leaders don't go off on their coach and they
absolutely, under no circumstances leave their team without
permission. Marbury is clearly a "ME FIRST" player who doesn't really
care about winning at all. It can be assumed that he doesn't really care
about his teammates either as he just up and left. The Knicks fined
Stephon $195,000, but it's unlikely he'll learn his lesson or change his
attitude. To go along with his fine, he also earned himself the BSN
JACKASS OF THE WEEK!
