Can  You Please Just Let LeBron Be
LeBron!
"He's no Michael Jordan." "He can't get it done by himself." "LeBron should
have passed the ball."  "LeBron should have shot the ball."  People, let the
kid play!  Who is Michael Jordan aside from the original? Nobody!  Who can
win games by themselves?  Nobody! Michael had Scottie, Kobe had Shaq
and vice versa and then Shaq had DWade.  Let the man make his decisions
and support him. If he shoots the ball at the end, you say he should have
passed, if he passes, you say he should have shot.  It's not fair!  He is only
22 years old.  At 22, he's already got 2 more season under his belt than MJ
had at that same age. He's the best player on a team that has no supporting
cast around him and they are in the conference finals!  He's an all star
already and he's at the sunrise of his career. Back off!  Maybe he won't turn
out to be Michael Jordan, but how is that fair?  Why do you have to compare
him to the best player of all time?!  Those are unfair pressures you're putting
on this kid. In fact, I'd say he's living up to expectations quite nicely at this
point. His career average at the age of 22 (4 seasons) is 26.7 points per
game, 6.7 rebounds, 6.4 assists and 1.0 steals.  Not bad at all. He's already
made 3 all star teams and this season he ranked in the top 3 in the NBA in
SEVEN categories. Yet, he's "not getting it done".  Need I remind you, Michael
Jordan was in his 7th season and 28 years old before he won his first title.  By
those standards LeBron still has some time.  James is putting up numbers
without protection. He doesn't have a Scottie Pippen to help score or a
Dennis Rodman to rebound, he does it all.  The problem here is simple. Some
jackass in the media decided James wasn't producing the way he should and
then our conformist society jumped all over it and ran with it. Well, I'm here to
tell you to jump off of that train, you're wrong.  LeBron is one of the best
players in todays game, he's a true super star and he's heading down the
path of greatness. He shouldn't have to apologize for not winning a
championship yet, he's 22, he shouldn't have to aplogoze for taking a shot or
making a pass in crunch time, he's the best player on a conference finals
team with nothing else, and he certainly shouldn't have to apologize for "not
being Michael Jordan".  Remember Harold Minor?  I doubt it, he was deemed
"Baby Jordan" at one point. What ever happened to that guy?  So when you
sit here and watch King James play, realize you're watching a truly great
athlete just budding, and appreciate what he's doing. He's not Jordan, Magic
or Bird, he's LeBron, and let him BE LeBron!
