This week's winner isn't a player, a coach, an owner or
a team. In fact, this week's winner isn't even one
person, it's a plethora of people, mostly sports media
professionals who decided to turn Sean Taylor's death
last week into a trial of his life.
Each and every single person who after hearing of
Washington Redskins safety Sean Taylor's shooting
and ultimate passing last week, that decided to trash
him and say they "weren't surprised" is a jackass. To
write about how Sean Taylor had this coming, was a
"thug" and how he shouldn't have been in Miami in
the first place, is ignorant. You don't know him as a
person, and even if you did, what right do you have to
try to make him look like the bad guy? Sure, Sean
Taylor had a few run ins with the law, but in this day
and age, and with today's athletes, who hasn't? Sean
Taylor is not the one who killed someone, he's the
one who got killed! Don't judge his life, his life is not
for you to judge. Write about Sean Taylor the football
player, the human being, the father who left an 18
month old daughter behind. That's what you need to
be writing about. All the rest of this garbage that has
been thrown into ink about him in deragatory terms
should be thrown away without acknowledgement. To
all those folks, and you know who you are, you are all
the BSN JACKASSES OF THE WEEK!
