Charlie Weis, the head coach of Notre Dame football is our
weekly winner. If you're wondering how or why he
achieved this honor, here is the quote from his press
conference after learning of his Fighting Irish falling a
couple spots in the polls after STRUGGLING to beat an
unranked UCLA team at home. "One of the teams
[Tennessee] that jumped us had the same game that we
had. They're down, they're playing at home and they win by
a field goal. Another team [Florida] that jumped us wasn't
even playing. They were at home eating cheeseburgers
and they end up jumping us. That befuddles me" That
befuddles you, Charlie? What's so hard to figure out?
Your team isn't that good. Through this weekend, teams
that Notre Dame has beaten so far this year have a
combined record of 30-29! ONE game over .500! That's a
PAthetic schedule. Of those wins, it went down to the
wire against unranked UCLA at HOME and an awful
Michigan St. team on the road. Notre Dame currently only
has one win against a team ranked in the top 25. That win
is over Georgia Tech who isn't exactly a power house.
Yet, Charlie Weis is "befuddled". Of their remaining
games, the teams left on their schedule have a combined
record of 13-18, of which SIX of those 13 wins are USC's!
Hey, Charlie, the pollsters aren't going to reward you for
that either! But Charlie needs further explanation. "We
go into a game with 27 seconds to go, come from behind,
win a thrilling game, and because we win a thrilling game,
let's move us down because one team is not playing and
the other team had the exact same game, exactly the
same. Tell me how that works. Maybe I'm just stupid. Just
tell me how that works. You're [a voter], tell me how that
works." Last time I checked Charlie, voters don't think
you should struggle at HOME against unranked
opponents. If you want to be ranked with the Big Boys,
you better destroy the teams who stink. If you don't, like
you haven't, you move down. It's simple. C'mon Charlie,
you've been around football long enough, figure it out.
You try to come across as if you're God's gift to coaching
and that you know it all. You know what Charlie? Yes, you
are stupid. You're also the BSN JACKASS OF THE WEEK!
