BSN'S JACKASS OF THE WEEK!
|
This week was actually a slow week in the way of Jackasses.
The winning candidate won for spouting off at the mouth and
then issuing the typical fake apology. The winner is Boston
Celtics radio announcer Cedric Maxwell.
While announcing a game last Monday between the Boston
Celtics and the Houston Rockets, referee Violet Palmer (the
only female official in any sport) made a call that Maxwell
disagreed with. By showing his distaste for the call, Maxwell
said "Go back to the kitchen". He then added: "Go in there
and make me some bacon and eggs, would you?" Cedric,
there is nothing wrong with disagreeing with a call and
letting it be known, but you should know by now, if you ever
break it down into gender, race, religion or sexual
orientation, you're going to catch flack for it. Apparently, he
didn't realize that saying: "This really has been a fire storm."
No kidding clown, you HAVE to be careful with what you say!
Everything that is done in the public eye is viewed with a
microscope, why wouldn't this be? Upon realizing he
screwed up, Maxwell apologized by saying: "If I said anything
that might have been insensitive or sexist in any way, then I
apologize because she worked extremely hard to get where
she is now, end of quote." There's the old standard fake
apology. The old "If i offended anyone" line. And the best
part of that apology is at the very end he says "end of
quote". HAHA. Hey, Maxwell, you don't need to say end of
quote, you just need to end the sentence and we can figure
out the quote is over! For his sexist remarks and more so
for his fake apology and "end of quote" line, Cedric Maxwell
earned himself the BSN JACKASS OF THE WEEK!
