Going into this week's article I have to admit it was a slow week for jackasses. Now, the award winner definitely pulled a jackass move, but it's not nearly on the level of some of the ones we've seen on here. This week's award goes to Denver Nuggets forward Carmelo Anthony. He's a heck of a ballplayer but apparently his skills aren't good enough to keep him inside the yellow lines while driving intoxicated. He was pulled over last night for DUI and subsequently arrested for it. The best part is, yet another fake apology was spewed out, and not even by Carmelo himself. His attorney, Dan Recht stated "Carmelo apologizes to his fans, the Denver community, his teammates and the Nuggets organization for the distraction this is causing them." Isn't this the standard, saw it on a napkin in some diner, apology that we see all the time? I'm so sick of these. I wish someone would just come out and say, "You know what, I did it, it happened, but I don't care". Sure, that would be insane, but that's more real than this. Anthony, at the very least, could have issued the drivel himself couldn't he? Anyway, drinking and driving is a jackass move, fortunately nobody was hurt and the only thing that really comes of it is Carmelo Anthony won this week's BSN JACKASS OF THE WEEK!
