BSN'S JACKASS OF THE WEEK!
I debated on making O.J. Simpson the jackass of the
week for his antics in Las Vegas last week, but I decided
against it. He has no relevance to sports anymore.  I've
decided to go with resident hot head and Sand Diego
Padres outfielder Milton Bradley.  In case you missed it,
Bradley had another meltdown on Sunday.  With his team
leading the wild card race by a mere 1/2 game, Bradley
took umbrage with a called strike against him in the 5th
inning and he let the umps know about it by arrogantly
tossing his bat in a way that showed his displeasure.
Later, in the 8th inning, Bradley made it to first base
when all of the sudden he and first base umpire Mike
Winters began "discussing" his bat flip 3 innings prior.
The next thing anyone knew, Bradley was flipping out
and his MANAGER Bud Black had to charge out of the
dugout to attempt to restrain him!  Black had such a
struggle with Bradley that he had to take him to the
ground, and in the process of taking Bradley out of what
Black correctly thought would be a suspension incurring
argument, Bradley's ACL snapped and he's now out for
the year!  Bradley has been on the Padres for 3 months
time, in which he has led the team in almost all offensive
categories and given them new life as well as helped
them get to the wild card lead.  They will severely miss
his potent bat and decent glove in the field.  His timing
couldn't have been worse and he may very well have
cost this team a shot a the post season. Bradley has
always had trouble controlling his temper and he's
usually ejected or fined. This time he took the ultimate
hit, a season ending injury which may not heal before
next season and he may have single handedly ended the
Padres season. Way to go Milton Bradley, I guess you
can play your board games early as you have just won
the BSN JACKASS OF THE WEEK!
